A lot of conflicting information is available about army training programs, both professional and in civilian 'simulation' facilities. The mix of fantasy and fiction can open up territory dangerous to explore ... but for some people the topic is irresistible.

As soon as time allows, the wealth text of material already in my hard-copy files needs to be 'brainstormed' and then distilled down to manageable proportions.
Anybody with professional experience of being on the receiving end of professionally run 'interrogation' exercises or has been responsible for conducting such sessions, is invited to contribute to the development of pages devoted to this topic.

This is a hot topic in these days of inter-national terrorism. The skills need to extract vital information quickly are essential in the modern world. It's not a pretty business.
However, the techniques used do stimulate in people with a certain mind-set a range of responses: curiosity as to how it's done - and the natural instinct to wonder what it might feel like.

Seriously challenging escape-and-evasion exercises are part of the training in many army units. Survival in a capture situation and resistance to interrogation are all simulated with ruthless authenticity by specially trained professionals in all branches of uniformed and more covert units.
How many people outside the military wonder if they could stand up to such treatment - and how many would like to learn the skills and find people to challenge?
Others like to confine such speculation to pure imagination (or not so pure).
