DECIDING
FACTORS:
To enter into the spirit of this Mind Game ask yourself the
following three questions:-
1.
THE HERE AND NOW
How could opportunities currently available to you be made
more convenient, comfortable and satisfying within the constraints
of your current social, domestic and financial situation?
Think about it!
2.
REALISTIC FUTURE POSSIBILITIES
Again, given social, family and financial circumstances how
might your current situation change in the foreseeable future?
3.
IN THE BEST OF ALL POSSIBLE WORLDS
How do you visualise the playspace of your dreams?
Your
answers to these basic questions could be the start of a journey
or at least a sexy mind expanding exercise. If you already
have some serious objectives I suggest you keep a pen and
paper handy because, as these random notes spark alternative
possibilities in your mind, jot them down or you may lose
track of them with so many ideas flying around.

WHAT?
+ WHERE? + HOW?
This
simple equation = WHAT we do depends on WHERE it might be best possible
to do it plus
HOW do we get into the situation we'd like to be in.
Decide for yourself which comes first.
1.
Name that game?
Make a list of activities you already have opportunity to enjoy. What
are they called? How do you describe them to other people?
2. Fantasy and reality?
Are there games you'd be tempted to explore - IF - space & equipment
were available? - BUT - would you play them regularly?
3. Practical considerations.
List the special equipment, space and other practical necessities demanded
by games you would like to play if opportunities became a realistic
possibility.
4. Friends and Family
What social & family circumstances (as distinct from space) limit
your opportunity to play the games you might like to play? Make a rough
list.
5. Financial Considerations
Cash is always a major reality and often a limiting factor. Do you have
an approximate amount you might be prepared to spend to get you started
on a project already in mind? Some useful budgetary shortcuts will be
suggested later - so don't make finance a limiting factor in your early
thinking. These five topics might offer some food for thought before
we return to an expanded version of those original three basic questions
about HERE & NOW, REALISTIC POSSIBILITIES OR WILDEST DREAMS?
Your pencil and paper might again come in handy if you're enjoying
the game so far.

IF THE WANT TO TAKE THE MATTER FURTHER ...
the
preceding five points, may have brought into focus exactly where your
priorities lie.
Whether lack of space or a need to adapt existing space or financial
constraints or kids reaching the age of curiosity is your starting point:
now take another look at the original three questions repeated below
in expanded form.
|
|
|
1.
THE HERE AND NOW
For years I've been encouraging people to make the most of what they
already have before investing extra cash, energy or time.
Could space currently available be made more useful within the constraints
of your current social, domestic and financial situation? Does this
mean putting in some work, finding some cash, bringing in extra help
to do specialised jobs, making extra time, getting rid of the kids occasionally
so you have opportunity to play - or finding a regular play partner?
That latter objective is not within the scope of this book, except that
any space should be appropriate for the people who might eventually
get to use it.
Take a fresh look at what you already have or could have if you reorganised
things even slightly. This is something worth focusing on. Speculate,
think creatively and re-evaluate your existing resources. Even as an
erotic mind-game it can be highly enjoyable, to think through a few
scenarios for a more satisfying sex life.
2.
FUTURE POSSIBILITIES
Might your current situation change in the foreseeable future in terms
of employment, finances, moving house, kids growing up and leaving?
In terms of your private life - what does the future hold for you and
should you wait for it - or consider ways to make something happen that
would improve your 'leisure' opportunities? Making it happen may be
the challenge you need to get more adrenaline flowing.
3. IN THE BEST OF ALL POSSIBLE WORLDS
Would you play different games if you had access to different playspace?
What different physical facilities would you need to help you play the
games of your dreams more comfortably, efficiently, safely ... and more
often?
If space is the limiting factor the answer may already be in your hands.
Visualise the erotic playspace of your dreams? Is it really only a lack
of cash holding you back? Do you actually know what you'd do, where
you'd start if what you currently think of as your limitations were
removed? Are there already ways you could make just a little bit of
that dream into a reality?
Getting your fantasies into stronger focus can, in itself, be fun -
and essential to a positive attempt to work towards a more satisfying
sexual lifestyle.
Only you know the answers to such questions - so where do YOU go from
here?

MORE ABOUT WHAT
- WHERE?
WHAT? = THE GAMES
PEOPLE PLAY
Activities are the "WHAT" we're discussing: Sexual, sensual,
erotic, imaginative, fetishistic, kinky ... you name it.? We've already
established that the word SEX in our context means "Whatever turns
you on" .
Sexual activities don't fall easily into conveniently labelled categories.
Blanket terms like S&M, bondage, watersports all cover a lot of
different levels and styles.
'Concepts' is perhaps a better word, elements in a person-to-person
situation; erotic and sensual ingredients in a recipe. We all know how
many different tasty dishes can be concocted from the same foodstuffs.
Cooks know how a familiar recipe can turn out differently if the quantities
are varied only very slightly.
There's
another 2000 words of text under this heading. They're stored elsewhere
for anybody who'd like to pursue this path. I'm working on a different
way of making it available to interested visitors without bogging down
the site - but for the moment "enough's enough"!
E-mail me if you want a copy.!
WHERE?
= AMBIANCE, ATMOSPHERE & SENSE OF PERSONAL STYLE:
Firstly, confirm in your own mind how you currently visualise your
ideal space (if money were no object) for the type of games you already
play or would like to play?
Medieval
dungeon
S&M Black room
Jail cell
Gymnasium or work-out room
Practical DIY workshop or garage
Medical room
School Room
Exotic bordello or sex boudoir
Familiar bedroom modifiable for 'darker games'
Comfortable all-purpose domestic 'rumpus' room
Hollywood glamour TV dressing room
Rubberworld
Waterworld
Is
your favourite image listed or do you imagine a combination of styles
or facilities? Or do the games that appeal to you demand more than one
type of space ... or the great outdoors?

GENERAL LIVING SPACE =
A comprehensive list of pointers for making an everyday living space
adaptable for successful SM/bondage games is in preparation and will
be added when time allows - but copies are available on request.
Much depends
partly on the imagery necessary to personal pleasure - but also, who
else has access to space (family, casual visitors, cleaners, etc.).
Personally, I don't
like having to switch from comfortable socialising space to a "Playroom"
in the middle of an encounter. What a wonderful surprise if you bring
someone home - test them out with a hood - and when they next see, the
room is transformed, and full of toys.
In any event - planning
any practical space can give you a lot of happy hours.

Finally, a not-so-obvious-solution is something I've installed for various
players:
SECRET SPACE
This can be an ideal solution to making either a general daytime living
area or bedroom into a "transformable" space. If overall architectural
shape of the room is suitable, with a little imagination this concept
can offer the most practical and satisfactory solution.
A section totally
closed off by specially built cupboard units or wall partitions, hinged
to swing open. The "inside" of these walls when opened become
part of whole room and can have equipment or appropriate decor attached.
Even a corner unit (floor to ceiling), say two panels each 1.25meters
wide that swing open, will reveal five meters of "committed"
wall, ceiling and floor space. The partitions can look like "long
term storage" and won't excite curiosity from visitors, cleaning
woman etc. Maybe they will be undetectable as false walls.
Inside such a unit, floor to ceiling posts can act as support for the
panels when closed and locked, and when open act as freestanding pillar
or whipping frame. Inside the unit, drawers, chests, hanging racks can
be attached to insides of walls to add extra rigidity.
On the main structural
walls inside the unit, strong fixing points or equipment which could
never be disguised.
Floor covering which
can be rolled out (part attached to floor) could be stored inside the
unit and extend to protect the main room carpet during games if required
.
Depending on size, shape and style of any ordinary living space, this
"Secret Space" could transform a room into a very practical
and versatile playroom as the un-latching of a well disguised latch
or lock.
